Projects

  • 2013-Present — Several projects including the following
    • Design and optimize hydraulic fracture treatments in several wells (vertical and horizontal with multiple clusters/stages) in different tight and shale plays including Midland Basin, Eastern Shelf, PRB etc.
    • Use coupled fracture and reservoir modeling approach to investigate development plans to recommend well landing locations and spacing, estimate EURs.
    • Gas Storage maintenance, injection/withdrawal cycle modeling, model surface facilities and maintain an in-house gas storage software.
    • Waterflood candidate selection, examine feasibility, institute flooding efforts, provide surveillance and conformance solutions.
  • Oct 2012 – Update a reservoir model constructed in early 2007 with new production and well data (Mouse River Park, North Dakota) and history match of the waterflood was made current.  Objective was to evaluate the success of the new drilling plan.  Simulation model predicted that the new horizontal wells will not cannibalize production of the existing wells.  Incremental production because of additional injection was also ascertained.
  • August 2012 – Performed basic reservoir engineering (production diagnostics, routine core and SCAL analysis, PVT analysis, Material Balance and simulation data preparation) for MOL’s Manzalai field, Pakistan.
  • Oct 2011 – Nov 2012 – Provided contents to construct a workflow for an Unconventional Project to perform reserves assessment, reservoir engineering, diagnostic plots, fracture analysis and reservoir simulation.  Applied the developed workflow to assess Montney Shale Canada.
  • Feb 2009 – current – Waterflood analysis using production diagnostic metrics, Capacitance Resistance Model, connectivity analysis and other in-house data-mining techniques for various fields in OK (Hewitt, Pierce, Wild Cat Jim etc), West Texas (EF King, North McElroy Unit etc).  Prescribe conformance and sweep improvement techniques using gel polymers.
  • Aug 2011 – current – Analysis of CO2 early breakthrough using diagnostic plots and examining injection profiles.  Provide guidelines and recommendations for in-depth treatment and profile modification.
  • Dec 2007 – Dec 2011 – Conduct 3D reservoir modeling and simulation to investigate waterflood potential in several fields in North Dakota (fractured carbonates of Sherwood, Midale formations).  Sensitivities were run to probe potential of several pattern configurations (5-spot, inverted 5-spot, nine spot, inverted nine spot etc) and compare them against incremental recovery, new injectors, preparing/opening wells and conversions.
  • Jan 2009 – Dec 2010 – Integrated studies using geophysical, petrophysical and geological modeling to build a 3D reservoir model for the Gialo formation, Libya.  Consequent history matched and predictive simulation cases provided guidelines of schedule of of new drilled wells, worked over wells and compression needs to maintain a contractual plateau for a period of time.
  • Jan 2007 – Dec 2007 – Feasibility study to screen various EOR techniques (based on sector model simulations) for Puesto Molina Field (~ 40 wells), Argentina (RepsolYPF) that had a thin oil rim with a large gas cap. Since the gas cap had already invaded the oil zone and the high CO2 content of the gas cap, the most pragmatic alternative as per simulation conclusions was to blow down the gas cap and use it as a source of CO2 for a nearby EOR project.
  • Jan 2006 – Dec 2006 – Waterflood analysis (production diagnostics and fractional flow) for North and South Pine fields, Cedar Creek Anticline, Montana. Sector simulation (53 wells) revealed the potential for infill drilling, injection redistribution and pattern reorientation.
